                    The king ‘Walagabma’ and king ‘Kirthi Sri Rajasingha’ also built temple around.it has many antiquities and including fresco. This ‘Arama Viharaya’ is the special temple is in Kegalle district.

                    This Arama Viharaya’ is situated  go Aranayaka road in Colombo-Kandy road, across Aranayaka bazaar and come to Horewala ,then go one mile across ‘Maha Oya’  at one's feet of the historical  ‘Rahalagala’ area.among the historical details about this temple the ‘Thudapatha’ give details about it. According to that ‘Thudapatha’ the king ‘Walagamba’ was organized their army and won that war and come to this place and built a temple in here. According to that he gave lots of fields to this temple. The king ‘Walagamba’ was built mansion with two stairs, a branch of ‘Sri Mha bodhi’, and layup omniscient relics and built seven acre caion. According to Kegalle report there are four idols and an idol sit on “Wajjrasana” in the two stair building. The named “Arama” is become the king who was built “Palarama”, ”Sangarama” and “Pushparama”.

 

                   The king “Nishshankamalla” who was kingdom in Polonnaruwa was reconstruction this “Arama” temple note in book. The wooden door frame with the dragon pandal in old temple is fixed it is in new temple and the idol is in old temple is kept in new temple presently.  According to legends the monks was lived in this place. This “Arama Viharaya” is the place which is the attention for the devotees who pilgrimage.
